FEDESSA, the Federation of European Self Storage Associations, was formed in March 2004 in response to a fast growing self storage market in Europe.
The federation consists of self storage associations across Europe and today FEDESSA represents 2,000 self storage facilities or more than 70% of the self storage facilities in Europe, including all the major operators.
Any self storage operator which is a member of a European national self storage association, is automatically a member of FEDESSA.
FEDESSA's current membership includes the national associations of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, The Netherlands, Czech Republic and the United Kingdom (SSA UK).
FEDESSA's mission is to:
Provide a common voice for the industry throughout Europe.
Support the development of national association and encourage countries where the industry is starting up to form their own national association.
Position the self storage industry as a responsible partner and business sector.
