YSN Code of Conduct
The YSN Board has written this code of conduct which should be always adhered to by all members of the group and in all circumstances including during in-person meetings, online events, and via social media activities.
Group
The group should work together in the interests of all YSN members and provide support and advice for members’ professional development within the industry and not use it as a sales platform/promotional tool.
Respect
Treat all group members fairly, respectfully, without prejudice or discrimination, and remember everyone has the right to personal privacy.
Communication
Be a great communicator, maintain high standards of communication, and remember that communication involves listening as well as talking. DO NOT use inappropriate language – writing, phoning, email, or on social media.
Objectivity
The group should remain objective and be free of judgment and bias and lack favouritism to individual members or groups of members.
Motivation
Be a great motivator when interacting with others in the group, encouraging participation from everyone.
Confidentiality
You may become aware of confidential information that should not, under any circumstances, be disclosed to other group members. Also, be mindful of who is around you when discussing matters that may be confidential.
Professional behaviour
It is expected that members will always behave professionally towards one another and will not engage in any inappropriate behaviour or contact, physical or verbal.
Be a LEADER
Members should lead by setting a good example to others and one that you would wish other members to follow.
Unacceptable behaviour
Should a member be deemed by the YSN Board to have behaved unacceptably; the consequence might be removal from the group.
